Rain, BloodRayne and soon, Boston.

Well its been pouring down rain nonstop for over a week now. Perhaps this is the infamous “Seattle Winter” that i’ve heard so much about… Basically its dark, chilly, wet and depressing. I cant tell yet if its better or worse that Boston’s dark, freezing, white, depressing winters. :)

Last Friday Devon and I ventured out for a dinner and a movie date night… I picked the restauraunt and Devon picked the movie…. Dinner was fantastic, but unfortunately the movie didnt live up to either of our expectations. And apparently from the grumbles i heard, the rest of the audience thought it sucked as well. We saw “Bloodrayne”, which is….. I mean, I think was supposed to be an action-thriller-vampire kinda movie. A half-vampire girl kills vampires and takes on the head-vampire, who is also the vampire who made her what she is, and killed her mother, yada, yada, yada. The actress hired to play the lead role is gorgeous and not a bad actress, per se. She was also the girl terminator in Terminator 3… Also the cast included a bunch of big hollywood names, who I think are generally good actors… such as:Michelle Rodriguez (Lost, The fast and the furious, Resident Evil), Michael Madsen (Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2., Sin City), Billy Zane (Titanic, The Phantom), Udo Kier (Johnny Pneumonic, Blade), Meatloaf .

Ok, Meatloaf may not be know for his stellar acting, but i think you get the picture….) With a cast like that and a decent plot, it was hard to imagine that it could get fudged up, but it definately did. The writers must have seriously been monkeys because anyone with a 3rd grade education could have written a script that sounded less like commentary and more like conversations. The actors werent given much to work with script wise and as a result they ended up looking bland and emotionless. The worst part was that the locations looked beautiful and its a shame that they went to waste in this film that was destined for failure with such aweful writers and a pathetic director… I try not to be too much of a movie critic, but this HAS to have been one of the worst 5 movies that I’ve ever seen. I saw it on Friday night, its opening weekend, with all of the diehard video game fans, and even they were talking smack about it being so lame on the way out….

So yeah. Save yourself the 2 hours, and give RayneBlood a miss.

Alright. Now that I’m done ranting, I’m gearing up for this weekend, when I’ll be flying back to Boston for a week, and hopefully convincing a store or two to carry my cards. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed. :) So yeah. Thats whats going on… That and learning to make a delicious Malaysian Coconut and Seafood Curry Soup… I should post that recipe, it was fabulous!

Hugs to all!

Yeah…I checked again. It is the 19th worst movie ever just a few spaces better than movies such as “From Justin to Kelly” and “Glitter” and a few notches better than “Gigli.”

    HAHAHAHA :)
