Planting violets kicks off the start to my spring.

This afternoon I planted some violets (viola cornuta hybrid – penny orange jump-up) in a window box outside of our kitchen.

They look super pretty. I havnt gardened in a while and I totally forgot how relaxing it is. I hope that we dont have another hard freeze which might kill them. I’ll just think positively.

That is a pretty picture…did you actually take it of your own flowers or is that from a botanical site or something?

I think I used to have those same flowers in my yard…they spread like crazy. I think you can also call them “Johnny jump-ups.” (Dunno why). :-)

No, the pic is just from a botanical site, but they are the same kind of flowers that i planted. I think mine look a bit more orange than the picture, but I was too lazy to takea shot of my own. :)

I hope mine spread like crazy. I totally spaced them wrong and the wondow box looks empty in some spaces… I guess we’ll see…
