Ice day.

Sunday it snowed 2 inches. Yesterday, that snow mostly melted. Then it started snowing again in the afternoon and we got another 4 inches. Its been below freezing ever since. Oh. And we live in a city that only has 1 or 2 snowplows, so we never got plowed out after the 2nd storm. But yeah. We’re iced in. We live in the middle of a hill, so there’s no way that we’ll make it to the top and out… Plus I don’t even want to think about the psychos that are actually out on the road.

Today will be enjoyed with a fire going in the wood stove, along with some hot tea and/or cocoa drinking. Perhaps some reading. And definitely a lot of nesting with Devon and our lizard. (Have I mentioned that Fifi doesn’t like the snow?)

Something is definitely wrong here – yesterday we had the record high temperature of 69 degree or something like that. And today, it is December 1st and it is over 65 degrees! There has been some sort of coastal shift and we are getting each other’s weather. Not to mention Seattle only gets its yearly snow when I am in town. :)

I was talking to someone on the phone from the Seattle area yesterday and she was telling me that they were on their 4th day of school closings from this 4-6 inches of snow. She is originally from New Jersey so we laughed at the silly Seattlites and their bad tires and single city plow. hahahaha

Yeah. It was crazy. We were finally able to get our cars safely out onto the roads yesterday, but it was crazy… We were house bound for 3 days. Part of it was it snowed, and noone plowed and they arn’t allowed to salt roads, so it all turned into ice and then it was below freezing for 4 days…which meant the roads were sheets of ice.

Our saving grace was that it finally warmed up enough to melt the roads clear…. Oh Seattlites… Thinking that sanding roads does that same thing that salting them does.
