A vid that makes me crush hardcore on New England.

Friday, November 4th, 2011

This video was made by some friends of the surf shop that I spend way too much time & money at: Summer Sessions in Rye, NH. The recent Noreaster that passed through New England last weekend made for some epic surf and ski conditions on Halloween & these hombres decided to take advantage of the storm’s leftovers. Some super cool cinematography & a rad soundtrack. This video totally gives the the warm fuzzies for being from a region that is home to so much awesomeness.

There’s also a cool article/write up thingie here that explains the situation with a bit more flair than me. :)

Winter cosy-ness-ocity.

After being woken up last night at midnight, 5am and 7am by my parent’s dog that we’re babysitting, I was very concerned that today was going to be a rough day. Other than being totally exhausted to begin with (additionally the ruppy had a similar schedule the night before), the day has turned into a mah-valous day of indoor snuggles while peering out at the winter wonderland outside.

I got some house cleaning done earlier, and now I’m curled up on my “diva” lounge chair with the ruppy, warming our toes in front of a nice roaring fire. Outside it’s cold & wet, but there are beautiful big fluffy snowflakes to admire & we have no reason to leave the house today. Man, I love the end result of planning weekly menus! Bundle up & stay warm kids!

Ice Burn.

I just got back from sledding behind my house (oh.my.god. I love having a big-ish chunk of land). I busted my hip – I’m going to have the largest bruise on my left leg from my mid thigh to my butt. I also have some lovely scrapes on my forearms from banging around down the icy hill. Nice.

The sledding was totally awesome, although Devon was less than impressed with the mini hill that’s behind our house. But I had a blast, getting exercise & injuring myself in the process. I’m so scrappy.

I’m so over snow.

So tonight is date night, and our driveway is a 6 inch deep sheet of ice, and it just started dumping snow again. Weak sauce. We have snow tires and 4WD, but i’m growing nervous about not being able to try out Moonstones tonight. And I’m really craving the idea of their fried buffalo calamari with blue cheese. Sounds sooo yummy.

On the upside, we haven’t lost power….. *knocks on wood*.

Blizzard Logic.

I’m currently debating the logic and sanity of driving 80 miles through rural MA and NH during a New England snow storm. Certain death is low on the scale and I really want to spend New Years Eve at my parent’s house…. However the snow (or “cold bread from heaven” as Fifi likes to call it) is really coming down….. We’ll see….
