I have the coolest Yukata ever.

Hey everyone!

Happy december and seasons greetings to you all!

I’ve baked 4 types of christmas cookies this weekend. (Oatmeal walnut raisin, peanut butter hershey kiss, thumbprints with jam and walnuts and chewy gingerbread cookies). So Devon and I have about 10 dozen cookies to eat in the next week or two.. Yippee! We’ve just been getting geared up for christmas and snuggling with one another. Happiness.

So for those who dont know, I went to Japan in May of this year with 3 of my girlfriends, to visit another friend of ours from high school who is teaching english there for 2 years. I ended up buying a gorgeous blue Yukata there, with shoes and waist band for about $25o US dollars. A yukata is similar to a kimono, except they are for every day wear, instead of special occasions, but i think they look very similar . So when i returned to home I was excited to find occasions to wear it. Since i’ve mostly retired from my nights as a night club kid, I dont have as many occasions as I’d like. Luckily Devon (my husband), is a photographer in his spare time, and I’ve modeled a little bit in the past, and we decided to do a little Japanese fashion photo shoot. Hair and makeup is done by myself, and the clothes and props are my own.. You can even see one of my acrylic paintings in the background. ( I would give credit to the clothingstore, but unfortunately the sales slip is totally in Japanese.) Devon takes photographer credits, and my thanks for taking the record for longest time to share photos with me after the shoot. Here are a few neat shots from this summer. :) ..
My yukata and our rice screens. I'm impressed that I was able to dress myself, after just being shown how to once when I bought the robes!
Looking all timid. :)
In our back yard, peering at some asian pears.
I was caught smiling. :) Also note how incredibly pale i look/am. Thats my skin without even any foundation, so yes, I am naturally as pale as a ghost. :)

So yeah, I’m happy. Also I’ve booked a flight back to boston in mid January, so I can sell my cards to some Boston stores, and do some visiting with family and friends. Seattle to Boston on JetBlue… the best airline ever!!! I have nonstop flights, which were only $79 each way!! On any other airline I’m lucky to find a flight for $25o round trip. Also I could pick my seats when I booked online, and I was able to reserve the much more roomy exit row seats, which generally dont get assigned until the day of the flight. In addition, JetBlue airplanes have personal TVs for every passenger, plus they come with Direct TV, so I can breeze through the 5 hour flight while watching the History channel, or Animal planet. (my 2 favorite channels) So yes. I’m a very happy camper. I travel to Boston pretty reguarlily and I’ve had way too many horrible flights , which often involve Alaskan Airline, a $400 plane ticket and an assigned seat that has clearly been made for anorexic midget customers. ( I know I’m tall and of strong teutonic stock, but I’m not a big girl, and I couldnt pull down my tray to a level position without it hitting my knees…. le sigh) Anyways. I’m actually very happy. A massive Thank You to Jet Blue for recently expanding with a nonstop Seattle-Boston flight.. :)

I’m gonna try to get a little discussion going on here with your help… Anyone else want to share an airline traveling nightmare?

I hope you guys are doing well and counting down the 7 days until christmas and I know the are people that read this, so darnit, at least give me a virtual wave! :)

Ciao!
