Some amusing reading.

So I finally got around to reading James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces. I know the whole “memoir” is all made up, but I still enjoy the book and it has some clever/surly tidbits. Here’s one passage that i found especially amusing, as it bashes the TV show “Friends” (which i loathe).

…I go back to the Unit and I sit and I watch TV. There is a sitcom about some witty New Yorkers who spend all of their time in one Apartment. One of the men praises the show and he talks about how real it is. The only people I know who spend so much time in one Apartment usually have black plastic taped over the windows and guns in the closet and burn marks on their lips and fingers and huge locks on the doors. They are not witty people, though their paranoia can be amusing. I don’t see anything like that on this show, but it is supposedly very real…

Does Devon know that the book you are reading was on Oprah’s book list?

Maybe it’s OK because it started a controversy that made Oprah feel “betrayed”. hahaha :)

I actually got it a year or two ago before the whole controversy… the fact that its an oprah book is just an unfortunate coincidence. :)
