Massive renovations.

Driving through Boston, Cambridge and Brookline today, I was amazed at the number of homes undergoing massive renovations. It seemed like almost every other house I saw had a huge dumpster in the front yard, a crew of construction workers, palettes of building materials or a combination of all three. I don’t remember there being so many houses being re-done when I lived here, just 3 years ago. I wonder why there’s been an increase. Do people have more money to spend? Have more houses changed hands in recent years? Or perhaps maybe people are just more interested in having updated, state of the art homes, than they have been in previous years.

Thoughts?
