Wrap-up of the 2nd Annual Diva Art Show.

Me at the 2nd Annual Diva Art Show

(Please excuse my hunched over back and the goofy look on my face)

So my first real art show in Seattle. And this one was my first ever where I seriously had to stand behind my product while people looked at them. I was so nervous. (Devon was so sleepy, hehe)

Luckily, the day ended up being a success. I was one of 6 artists set up at the Highlands Diva location, and I was probably 1st or 2nd in sales. (Although I’m not sure if thats due to people liking my cards, or the fact that my cards were the most inexpensive thing being sold by any of the artists.) I sold at least 15 of my cards, although my profits were cut down a little bit because I ended up buying a beautiful pair of lime green earrings from a beader-artist next to me. :) Out of the hardest hit were my Fifi cards that were captioned “Fifi was a jolly ol’ St. Nick”, as I ended up selling out of those. :)

It was really interesting to see and chat with other local artists. There was the beaded-jewelry maker, another collage artist who worked on boxes and magnets, a painter, an artist couple where the girl took pictures and the guy wrote poems to be overlaid on the photos (which were really amazing looking), and a photographer who dabbled in wreath making. It was great to chat with them and find out where they have displayed their works and where they sell their wares. So I got some great ideas and feel motivated to keep on going with this whole “art thing”. :)

I think if anything, I feel really motivated to start up again on some large scale collages, which I haven’t worked on in probably 1 or 2 years. but I have some great ideas brewing in my head, and hopefully I’ll be able to get some of them out onto canvas.
