My first art show in Seattle!!!

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

Diva Espresso Coffee CupA month ago, I submitted a form to be a part of an annual art show at my local (and favorite) coffee house: Diva Espresso. I just heard back yesterday that they thought that my collaged note cards were perfect for their show and that they’d like my art to be a part of it!!!!

So mark your calenders ladies and gentlemen.

9am to 3pm

At the Diva Espresso coffeeshop
(the North Seattle/Shoreline Highlands location.)

14419 Greenwood Avenue North

Woohoo! I’m super excited. I’m not sure how man of my note cards I’ll be able to display, but there will definitely be a quantity of them greater than 1, and they’ll be available to purchase. So, come on out if you’re in the area and would like to support some local artists.

(Thanks to Elena777 on Flickr.com for the Diva coffee cup photo)

How many of you are there?

How many have your name?

Interestingly enough, if I enter my maiden name, it says that I’m the only one in the US with that name. I’m not truly unique anymore. :(

Long weekend in New York City

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Alright. I’m back from NYC. I was delayed a few days in posting pictures since Devon set up a nifty new version of my photo gallery that supposedly integrates with my blog.

Kara and I walking.

Any who. i had a great time visiting with my friend Kara. We went out to bars and drank too much, we went sight seeing to Central Park and Times Sq., we met the lovely Moonbatty for tea, and spent some time in the living room with Kara’s 2 roomates watching tv and surfing on our respective laptops. It was a good time.

Check out all of the pictures here, in my new uber fancy gallery.

Another reason JetBlue rocks.

I’m currently in the JetBlue terminal in the JFK airport and they provide free wireless internet. I think I’m officially in love with an airline.

Off to New York.

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

Tonight I’m off to New York City for a long weekend, with a layover in Boston tomorrow morning. If anyone in Boston wants to hang out in Logan airport tomorrow morning from 7-8am, give me a call. :) Woohoo red eyes!
I’ll be hanging out with my girlie, Kara, who I haven’t hung out with in forever, and I’ll be meeting the lovely Moonbatty.

Hopefully Kara remembers to pick me up from the airport tomorrow morning.

Fun times, fun times. :)

I’m going to rehab.

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

No, not that kind of rehab.

My wrists and hands have been bothering me for a while now. Aches and pains that usually come when I’ve been scrolling message boards for too long. I had an appointment with my general physician about these problems, and she was basically no help at all… She basically shrugged and said “Well I’m pretty sure its not arthritis. You should take lots of ibuprofen and just not use your hands for 2 weeks.” Totally not helpful at all. I came away from that visit with a lot less confidence in physicians in general.

On the upside, she referred me to a Hand Rehab clinic. My first visit was yesterday and it was absolutely amazing!!! First off, my hand problems totally paled in comparison to all of the other patients there. There was an old lady who could barely turn a door knob and a few guys who looked like they had stuck their hands into wood chippers. My physical therapist was totally awesome, and even though she isn’t quite sure what the exact problem is, she did a bunch of stuff to make my hand feel better. I got a really nice hand hot wrap and she showed me some really simple stretches to loosen up some nerves which I’ve apparently been compressing. And she wants meĀ  to wear socks of warm rice of my hands…. I haven’t tried them yet, but I think Devon will totally laugh at me since he’s been threatening to make me wear stuffed animals on my hands so I can’t use the computer and break my hands even more.

But yeah. I love rehab.
