Belly dancing

I’ve been meaning to take a class at a local college for a while, and I finally got around to registering for one. Starting in July, I’ll be taking a 6 week belly dancing class. Woohoo!
I’m a little scared, but ready to bare my belly. :) Yeay sequined outfits!!!

Gym Pet Peeves.

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

Maybe I’m extra surly today, but people were acting extra stupid at the gym today.

Things that got under my skin:

  • There was a big tub of free Twizzlers (or Red Vines here on the west coast) on the table next to the entrance when I walked in… Hello? I come here so I can work off all of the Twizzlers I eat at home.
  • People who put their towels and water bottles on the machines next to the ones they are using. I’m sorry, you dont own this gym, you just own a membership to this gym, like everyone else here. Move your crap and let someone else use the machine.
  • The old naked Asian lady who is always wandering around the ladies’ locker room. ‘Nuff said.
  • The ‘roid heads who groan loudly every time they do a rep. You know the kind that you can still hear over by the treadmills. Look, if I can hear your womanly moaning over my iPod on full blast, you need to suck it up and take off some weight.
  • The nasty old men that stare at my boobs when I’m doing my stretches. If you came close enough to smell me you’d realize how unattractive sweaty gym girls really are. Losers.

Ok. I’m done ranting for today. :) Feel free to add your own.

Its offically warm weather time now that 2 out of my 5 orchids are blooming. They are quite nice to look at. :)

Orchids

3 years and I still haven’t killed an orchid plant. It must be some sort of record. :)

WaiterRant.net

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

I came across a really amusing blog called WaiterRant.net. It was created by a NYC waiter who writes about his outrageous customers and his other experiences in a upper class New York bistro.

Its some good reading. I’ve wasted most of today reading it. Check it out!

“United Air Flight 724, New York to Beijing, now boarding all passengers in the cattle car class.”

There have been recent reports of AirBus pitching the option of having a section of “standing-room-only” seats. These passengers would be harnessed into a padded backboard. Amazingly, these “seats” would still have more leg room than Alaskan Air. *snicker*

Airbus now says that while they explored the option, they ended up abandoning the idea in 2003. But it still gets me wondering. Would anyone actually buy these seats?.. I’m ashamed to admit, that I just might… But only if it was a flight under an hour (say Boston to NYC), and the ticket prices were greatly reduced… say $30 a pop? Honestly, the standing room seats look like they would be more comfortable than having my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me, like in normal economy class.

How about you? Would you buy a ticket for a standing-room “seat”?

Dynasty

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

Last night I watched the Dynasty reunion show. I was too young to watch the soap opera when it was originally on, but I was still facinated by the “best of” clips that they played during last night’s show.

Am I ashamed of watching such cheesiness? Yes.

Did I enjoy myself? Yes.

Fifi’s 2nd Birthday.

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

So yesterday was Fifi’s 2nd adoptive birthday. We made her French Apple cake and made her wear a party hat. Then we all ate lots of cake.

Christian, who was there, says that we’re both totally insane… But he ate the cake, without any complaints. :)

Fifi in her party hat, and her apple cake.

Fifi eats like a little pigglet.Have I mentioned that Fifi eats like a pigglet?
