Flickr music video by Jonathan Coulton.

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

Just one more neat song by Jonathan Coulton that I wanted to share.

So, Flickr is a website where people can upload and share their photos. (Like my gallery or Shutterfly.) Jonathan made a slideshow using a random bunch of people’s photos, and then wrote a song to go along with the pictures.

It’s quite amusing. My favorite part was a tie between the sleepy panda and when “Dwyer’s rocking out on his guitar”.

Best cover of “Baby Got Back” ever!

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

“Baby Got Back” is a classic rap song originally by Sir Mix-a-lot.

For those of you who are drawing a blank, its the song that starts out with a girl saying “Oh..my…god! Look at her butt! Her butt is SOO big”

And then continues with Sir Mix-a-lot spinning his rhymes:

I like big butts and I cannot lie
You other brothers can’t deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face

You get sprung and you wanna pull up tough
You notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she’s wearing
I’m hooked and I can’t stop staring

Anyways. Devon came across a musician named Jonathan Coulton who does an awesome cover of the song… Its the ultimate “white guy” cover of a rap song. Think John Mayer does Run D.M.C..

Its really well done and pretty catchy to boot; I’ve been walking around our house singing the chorus ever since Devon played it for me yesterday…

“Baby got Baaaaa-aaack”

Hear the song here.

Enjoy the song, and if you’re intrigued and want to hear more of Jonathan’s songs, he has a free weekly podcast available on Apple’s iTunes.

Viva la France!

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

Here’s my paraphrased version of my trip to the French Riviera, using a couple of my favorite photos…

Here’s my dad and I drinking our “verre de vin de rosè” (glasses of rosè wine) with lunch at a cafe in Juan le Pins. BTW, french salads rock!

I’m back!!!

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

Hiya gang! I’m back! After only 22 hours in airports and on planes, I have returned to Seattle.

Those flights sucked. I was stuck with a group of high school kids from Boston on the first 2 legs and they acted like your typical obnoxious Americans and kept doing shit to annoy me. :( Then I had a 2 hour layover in Chicago’s O’hare which turned into about 3 minutes after a late arrival and then I had to fight my way through long lines at baggage claim, immigration and security, tramming to a new terminal and stupid people that walk slow. I ended up running through multiple terminals while carrying 4 bottles of wine, and then getting to the gate of my seattle flight just as they closed the gate. It must have been my lucky day or something because they let me get on the flight.

Anyways, I’m finally back, and I’ll be up loading the photos from my trip and posting them here, just as soon as i get around to it. :)

French Flag

Woohoo! I leave tomorrow morning for France. I arrive around Noon on Monday. Shudder.

So I wont be back till Monday, the 24th. So I wont be able to check e-mail and moderate spam comments and whatnot. However, my phone will be on and working though if you need to get ahold of me.

Till then! Au Revoir!

I found this online while searching for a French flag to use on an upcoming post. It was so hillarious/insulting I just had to repost it. :) Enjoy!
