Still raining in Seattle and other random ramblings.

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

Its still raining every day, here in Seattle. Its been pretty depressing, and I seriously want one of those fake sunlamp contraptions that send electricity meters spinning and are supposed to cheer up people who cant be exposed to natural sunlight. I’ve been going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week for the last month and I think its been good for me. I’ve never really had much stamina for cardio, but I’ve gotten up to spending 20 minutes on the eliptical machine during my workouts. I feel like I’m in better shape and I’m happier with my body, although I havn’t gone down any clothing sizes. I do feel less squishy, but the muscles that I’m building are preventing me from dropping to a size 10. I’m convinced my hourglass body just wasn’t built for having washboard abs. Oh well. If mae west could rock her curves, so can I.

So i have some photos from my trip to Boston and i thought I’d share….
Bowling at Kings in Boston
Here I am bowling at Kings, in Boston, on a girls night out with Ann, Kristin, and Katie.
Kristin, me and Katie outside of Kings.
Here is Kristin, me and Katie outside of Kings.
A horrible picture of myself (please ignore my lack of makeup), but my Mom, Dad and big brother, Seth, look great.
Me with my fam and puppy. My mom, dad and bro, Seth, all look great, while I look pretty gross. Please excuse my lack of makeup.

What else? Devon’s 26th birthday is coming up on Feb. 11th and I have a little weekend getaway planned. Last year I was with my Mom and Dad in Venice, celebrating my Mom’s birthday. Hers is one day before Devon’s, so I had to choose between being with my mom in Venice on hers and being with Devon in Seattle on his…. So i did what any sane girl would do in my situation…. I went to Italy, of course. :) So anyways. I wanted to make sure that this year would make up for last year, so I’m renting a nice room in the new Westin in Bellevue for the weekend. (Bellevue is a 10 minute drive from Seattle, over the lake) I’m planning on lots bed lounging, swimming in the pool and ordering room service… And occasionally going window shopping in the Apple store that’s next door in the mall (Devon’s favorite store in the world is the Apple store… He could spend days in there…)Devon and I.Here we are being super cute today…

Then on Feb. 15th, Kristin comes to visit! She’s one of the girls that I’ve been best friends with since high school and one of the only people who has actually commented on my blog. :) We’re gonna have tons of fun. Bowling, thrift store shopping and indulging in all of the girl talk that I’ve been lacking in my life. :) It should be fun…. This pic is of us a few weeks ago in boston. She puts up with my insanity. :) As is evident in all of these photos. :) Enjoy…

  • Rain, BloodRayne and soon, Boston.

    Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Well its been pouring down rain nonstop for over a week now. Perhaps this is the infamous “Seattle Winter” that i’ve heard so much about… Basically its dark, chilly, wet and depressing. I cant tell yet if its better or worse that Boston’s dark, freezing, white, depressing winters. :)

Last Friday Devon and I ventured out for a dinner and a movie date night… I picked the restauraunt and Devon picked the movie…. Dinner was fantastic, but unfortunately the movie didnt live up to either of our expectations. And apparently from the grumbles i heard, the rest of the audience thought it sucked as well. We saw “Bloodrayne”, which is….. I mean, I think was supposed to be an action-thriller-vampire kinda movie. A half-vampire girl kills vampires and takes on the head-vampire, who is also the vampire who made her what she is, and killed her mother, yada, yada, yada. The actress hired to play the lead role is gorgeous and not a bad actress, per se. She was also the girl terminator in Terminator 3… Also the cast included a bunch of big hollywood names, who I think are generally good actors… such as:Michelle Rodriguez (Lost, The fast and the furious, Resident Evil), Michael Madsen (Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2., Sin City), Billy Zane (Titanic, The Phantom), Udo Kier (Johnny Pneumonic, Blade), Meatloaf . Bad fashion vs. good fashion – Cell phones and purses.

    Monday, January 2nd, 2006

So I was recently thinking about some people’s poor fashion decisions, so I’ve decided to post some helpful rules… I know that not everyone may agree with my fashion sense, which can be a little colorful and excentric, but i think that all fashionistas will agree with my basic fashion do’s and donts. Today I tackle good fashion vs. bad fashion involving cell phones and purses…
